For the third consecutive night, law enforcement in Ireland encountered a barrage of projectiles and pyrotechnics within the capital city.

Hundreds of protesters gathered near the gate of a hotel sheltering individuals seeking refuge in a westside district of the city.

This represents the third evening of protests at Citywest following an alleged sexual assault involving a young girl in the vicinity of the building early on Monday.

A 26-year-old, who remains unnamed due to standard procedures in sexual assault proceedings, was presented in the judicial system on the following day charged in relation to the alleged event.

Several detentions took place during the significant unrest on Tuesday night, and the national law enforcement pledged a “robust response” if the hostilities continued.

Between 7pm and 8pm on the next day, a multitude of participants again faced off against approximately 40 police in uniform.

The initial personnel were replaced by the public order unit equipped with plastic shields and extra body protection after sustaining hits from various thrown objects.

Some protesters persisted to hurl assorted items at the police members.

Vandalism also took place around the nearby transit station, which is adjacent to the road used by the protesters.

While the initial protest ended without major issues, a female officer was hurt during Tuesday’s violence and subsequently discharged from medical care after treatment for a injury to her foot.

A police vehicle was also ignited during the earlier unrest in the week.

The senior officer, who inspected the scene after the violence, stated on that day that he was “determined” to see additional individuals face legal proceedings to answer for their actions.

The head of government denounced the acts of hostility, stating there could be “no justification” for assaults on officers.
